The Modern Hall of Fame:
As our breed continues to evolve, we have introduced the Modern Hall of Fame, recognizing dogs that meet even more stringent criteria. This new list celebrates those who have demonstrated exceptional qualities under the highest standards, ensuring that our breed remains at the pinnacle of excellence. The Modern Hall of Fame builds on the foundation laid by the Archived Hall of Fame, further advancing the recognition of outstanding working and producing dogs in our breed. The Patterdale Terrier Club of America was started with the end goal of documenting the Patterdale Terrier as a breed in America. Our Modern Hall of Fame list helps document some of the best quality dogs the breed has to offer. The Modern Hall of Fame is dynamic or fluid making sure its occupants are truly deserving of the recognition.
The Archived Hall of Fame:
We honor the dogs that have shaped our breed's history in the Archived Hall of Fame. These remarkable canines earned their place during a time when the breed was still establishing its presence and standards within the states. The Archived Hall of Fame remains as a tribute to their contributions, and we continue to respect and value every dog that has been enshrined on this prestigious list.
The Modern Hall of Fame:
The Modern Hall of Fame (HOF) Patterdale Terriers are selected because their great impact on the breed, as workers FIRST AND FOREMOST AND through their impact on the breed by producing top class working progeny. To be placed in the Modern Hall of Fame terriers must obtain Field Ch & have a Working Certificate and continue to show their working abilities without fail. Unlike the Archived Hall of Fame the Modern Hall of Fame is fluid in that the PTCA will remove any terrier that fails to continue to meet the working standard. Terriers must be nominated by a 'second party' (not the terrier's owner).
