The Modern Hall of Fame:
As our breed/Type continues to evolve, we have introduced the Modern Hall of Fame, recognizing dogs that meet an even more stringent criteria. This new list celebrates those who have demonstrated exceptional qualities under the highest standards, ensuring that our breed remains at the pinnacle of excellence. The Modern Hall of Fame builds on the foundation laid by the Archived Hall of Fame yet not including any Terrier that was not used for the breeds traditional working purpose and that is a earth terrier, further advancing the recognition of outstanding working and producing dogs in our breed. The Patterdale Terrier Club of America was started with the end goal of documenting the Patterdale Terrier as a breed. Our Modern Hall of Fame list helps document some of the best quality dogs the breed has to offer. The Modern Hall of Fame is dynamic or fluid making sure its occupants are truly deserving of the recognition. Annual members can vote on nominees as well as nominate the terrier they believe deserve to be on the Hall of Fame list.
The Archived Hall of Fame:
The Archived Hall of Fame remains as a tribute to the history of the PTCA dating back to 1993 and the fanciers contributions.
The Modern Hall of Fame:
The Modern Hall of Fame (HOF) Patterdale Terriers are selected because their great impact on the breed, as workers FIRST AND FOREMOST AND through their impact on the breed by producing top class working progeny. To be placed in the Modern Hall of Fame terriers must obtain Field Ch & have a Working Certificate and continue to show their working abilities without fail. Unlike the Archived Hall of Fame the Modern Hall of Fame is fluid in that the PTCA will remove any terrier that fails to continue to meet the working standard. Terriers must be nominated by a 'second party' (not the terrier's owner). This can be done after logging into the annual member access page.
