Archived Hall of Fame (HOF) Patterdale Terriers were selected because their g impact on the breed, either through working ability OR simply progeny. Had to be nominated by a 'second party' (not the terrier's owner). In the archived list, some dogs were included solely based on their genetic contribution, without the requirement of having done any work. The Modern Hall of Fame takes a different approach. Only terriers that were regularly worked and also proved to be producers of quality offspring are included. The Archived Hall of Fame was the only list for 32 years. Some fanciers love it some fanciers felt the Hall of Fame list should be more focused on terriers that did the traditional job of the breed throughout their lifetime.
